The Children's Museum at Saratoga benefits young children...

with a year round program of interactive exhibits, hands-on programs, events and daily opportunities for social interaction with other children and with their parents and caregivers.

  • The museum's multisensory and thematic exhibits foster curiosity, problem solving, social interaction and communication skills.
  • They help young children learn about their world, whether it's the diner, the fire truck or the bandstand in Congress Park.
  • Using the exhibits gives young children a sense of accomplishment and self-confidence.

The Children's Museum at Saratoga builds better families…

with What Can You do with a Dollar classes, Tuesdays for Tots playtimes, educational signage, and countless opportunities for informal connections between diverse families.

The Children's Museum at Saratoga engages the community…

with volunteer opportunities for high school and college students and adults in both education and business.  We highlight local artists and performers, hire sign makers, builders, and other trades people and we employ free-lance educators.

The Children's Museum at Saratoga benefits the schools…

with direct services to public school districts and both public and private preschools with a professional development series and Outreach programs (Beyond the Bark, a program about tress, Stuffee, a health program, City by Design, a city planning program and Lasting Impressions, a history of New York State geology). The area's elementary schools benefit greatly from enrolling children of museum members.  Frequent visitors arrive at kindergarten with social and intellectual skills and are ready to learn.

The Children's Museum at Saratoga supports downtown…

with 35,000 visitors every year, bringing families pushing strollers to the downtown area, who in turn support local merchants and restaurants, and humanize the face of our city.

The Children's Museum at Saratoga is inclusive…

with an outreach program that brings low income and special needs visitors to the museum… children who are in safehouses as a result of family violence, Head Start children who appreciate our 8,000 feet of interactive playspace, special needs children for whom our hands on sensory experiences allow learning in a natural way and Fresh Air Fund inner city children who rarely have playful childhood experiences.  These families diversify and broaden our audience, breaking down social and class barriers, and make it possible for families from all walks of life to find common ground in the raising of young children.
